The Research Hub's Annual Call for Proposals is NOW OPEN!

We’re thrilled to invite you to submit your ideas for our next project on organics recycling!

This is your chance to help shape the future of composting and anaerobic digestion (AD) in the UK. We’re looking for fresh, cutting-edge research ideas that will drive innovation, support the growth of the sector, and enhance the functionality of the CCS and BCS.

Got an idea for our next research project? Submit your proposal and let’s see where your idea can go!
 

How to submit:

• Step 1: Fill out the Research Proposal Form (here).
• Step 2: Email your completed form to info@realschemes.org.uk.
• Deadline: Make sure to submit by Friday, 28th February!

Need some help or inspiration? We’ve got you covered!

• Research Ideas Support: Reach out to Stephen Nortcliff, our Research Hub Advisor, for help brainstorming or writing your proposal (s.nortcliff@reading.ac.uk).
• Organics Recycling Research Library: Our virtual library is full of resources to spark your creativity! Explore research gaps, strategy/policy documents, and hundreds of articles on AD and composting to inspire your next big idea.
• Previous Projects: Check out past commissioned projects on our Research Projects page to see the kinds of proposals we've funded in the past.

Note: Everyone is welcome to submit a proposal! All submissions will be reviewed for potential funding later this year, with successful projects moving on to an open tender process to appoint contractors.
