Now Open! - Call for Proposals 2024

Posted: 25 January, 2024. Written by Megan Muller-Girard

Open: Thursday 25th January 2024. Deadline: Friday 8th March 2024

The Research Hub's annual Call for Proposals is now open! Please submit your idea for our next project in the field of organics recycling.

We are interested in any ideas that drive innovation, research, and development in the organics recycling sector to ensure the robust functioning of the Schemes (CCS and BCS) and Standards (PAS 100 and PAS 110), reinforce market confidence, and/or contribute to market and policy development for the composting and AD industries.

Got an idea for our next project? We encourage you to submit a proposal!

If you wish to submit a proposal, please ensure you:

  • Provide a summary of your research idea using the Research Proposal Form (here).
  • Email the completed form to megan@realschemes.org.uk.
  • Deadline: Friday, 8th March

If you’d like some support, we are happy to provide the following:

  • Research Ideas Workshop: Tuesday, 12th February at 10 am on Teams – In this guided session, we will brainstorm research ideas, provide guidance on how to write up your idea into a proposal, and answer any questions about the proposal process.
  • Organics Recycling Research Library – On our virtual Research Library (here), you will find a summary of ‘Research Gaps’ (i.e., under-researched areas related to AD/composting) as well as hundreds of research articles, strategy documents, and market reports to inspire new research ideas.
  • Examples of previous projects commissioned by the Research Hub may also be found on the Research Projects page of our website.

If you wish to register for this workshop or have any queries about the proposal process, please contact megan@realschemes.org.uk

We look forward to reading your research ideas!

Please note: Anyone is eligible to submit a proposal. All proposals will be evaluated for funding later this year. Selected projects will undergo an open tender process to appoint a contractor.
