2023 Call for Proposals now open!

Posted: 30 January, 2023. Written by Megan Muller-Girard

The REAL Research Hub is delighted to announce the 2023 Call for Proposals!

Do you have an idea for the Research Hub’s next project into the field of organics recycling? If so, we encourage you to submit a research proposal.

Proposals submitted during the open Call for Proposals will be evaluated for funding later this year. Projects selected for funding may be used to inform future decision-making about the Schemes (CCS and BCS) and Standards (PAS100 and PAS110) and to support market confidence and development within the compost and AD industry.

How to Submit a Proposal:

  • Summarise your research idea using the Research Proposal Submission Form (here).
  • Email the completed form to the Research Hub (megan@realschemes.org.uk)
  • Deadline: Friday, 3rd March 2023

Support Available:

If you wish to submit a proposal but are feeling stuck, the Hub has resources to help support you when preparing your proposal.

  • Examples of projects previously commissioned by the Research Hub, all initially submitted as proposals, can be found on our website. You may also find it helpful to refer to the Research Hub's objectives (here).
  • The Hub’s Organics Recycling Research Library contains a summary of 'Research Gaps' across the AD and Composting sectors as well as hundreds of research articles, strategy documents and market reports to inform and inspire new research ideas.
  • On Wednesday, 8th February at 10am, the Research Hub will host an online workshop to explain the proposal process and answer any questions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to brainstorm project ideas with support from Stephen Nortcliff, advisor to the REAL Research Hub.

To request workshop joining details or for general questions about the Research Hub and/or proposal process, please contact Megan, the Research Hub Manager:
